Capturing small pieces of the natural world around us brings to light intriguing details in the suprising variety of birch bark, the overlay of different types of lychen, the structure of cedar tips and the sensuous topography of red pine bark.

Photos of this jewelry can’t really do justice to the amber-like transparency of river birch bark or feathery lichen peaking through the openings of white birch, but each piece brings to light different subtle characteristics of the woods around me in the Midwest.
